The Disarmament and International Security Committee is the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, dedicated to maintaining international peace and security. Its agenda includes arms control, nuclear non-proliferation, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, and emerging global security challenges. By fostering multilateral dialogue and consensus-building, it works to address evolving security threats while promoting global stability and cooperation.

Amog Nair

Amog Nair is a graduate of Christ University and holds a Master’s degree in Space and Telecom Law from NALSAR University. He has extensively studied Political Science and International Relations and has participated in numerous Model United Nations conferences in various capacities over the years. His academic and professional interests lie in geopolitics, international security, emerging technologies, and the often-overlooked world of sub rosa government programs and strategic affairs. Outside of MUNs, he enjoys researching unconventional national security topics, technology policy, and global power dynamics. He is delighted to serve as Chair of DISEC and looks forward to a productive and engaging committee session.

Sathvik Vadari

Sathvik Vadari, a recent CBIT graduate, works as a Founding Al Engineer at 8bit.ai. Since 2013, he has been actively involved in debating in MUNs. Beyond his professional pursuits, Sathvik is passionate about football, particularly Manchester United, as well as fine dining, chess, and comic books. His curiosity and problem-solving mindset often make him wish if he could introduce the solutions moderated caucus at the very beginning itself. Along with the Executive Board, he wishes to inspire more young MUNners and looks forward to a fruitful debate.

Samvit Reddy Punnam

Samvit is an IBDP year 2 student studying Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics at a higher level to pursue a career in engineering. Known for his dedication, teamwork, and tactical mindset, he plays a vital role in shaping the flow and spirit of the committee’s proceedings. Outside the MUN setting, Samvit is a devoted sports enthusiast. Whether he’s playing football with friends, crying about matchday stats, or following multiple leagues at once, his enthusiasm is unmatched. With a deep respect for sports and a genuine commitment to the MUN experience, Samvit ensures the committee reflects both the competitiveness and unity that football represents worldwide.
